Co-hosting the 2012 NJASTennessee has been approached to host the NJAS with Ohio and Kentucky in 2012. The following information has been provided by Robin Ruff regarding joining this endeavor: First, all hosting states put in seed money ranging from $2,000-$5,000, and it didn’t matter what each state brought. They were all at equal levels. They acted as if they were starting from scratch. (I know one state didn’t have any money, so they started as soon as they could raffling off hay bale holders, etc.) Second, they set a policy of what they were going to do with the extra money in the end (and it’s not going to be divided up between the states). Third, the fundraising committee is from one of the states, but all of the states work together in the fundraising efforts. For example, each state is raising money for the 2010 NJAS, not for each junior association. All of them are doing small fundraisers in their own states; fans, cookbooks, etc. and it doesn’t matter what each state raises to put in the pot to host the 2010 NJAS. Nobody is keeping tally of what each state brings because they understand that it's harder to fundraise money in different areas. We would like everyone's input on this event. If you are not able to attend the Fall Meeting please respond to Lake Elliott at resdubman@hotmail.com or Sonya Smith at srsmith@bakerdonelson.com prior to the meeting so that your voice can be heard. |
