While some change is constant, many things in the cattle business remain as true today as when we sold our first bulls nearly 50 years ago. Cattle still sell by the pound, cows still have to thrive on grass, and the success of the beef industry ultimately depends on the satisfactory eating experience of our beef consumers.
Generations of ultrasound and carcass measurement, hundreds of thousands of individual performance weights, widespread use of AI sires compared against each other in many herds and computer analysis to make sense of it all have worked together to make our genetic progress more rapid and our results more accurate by many times than they were a few years ago. Our ability to measure our progress and to predict the genetic ability of our bulls to produce that progress has been one of the big changes in the past 50 years.
You can study the information presented in this catalog and buy bulls to meet your goals with greater confidence than ever before. We pick proven AI sires with high accuracy EPDs to meet our long time goal of improving growth and carcass traits while maintaining calving ease and moderate mature size. Proven sires, cows from proven sires and large contemporary groups combine to give our EPDs greater accuracy than most. The EPDs presented here already include each bull’s individual data for yearling weight and ultrasound measurements. The bulls have already passed a breeding soundness and semen exam and are free from curly calf (AM) and Hydrocephalus (NH) either by pedigree or by test.
We continue to offer the same “full satisfaction” guarantee that we’ve used for years. If you are not satisfied with the bull through the first breeding season, we will offer either a replacement of equal quality or credit for the next sale. The guarantee does not cover mortality and we ask to be notified by the end of the first breeding season or no later than Sept. 1st.
The bulls will be delivered for free within 300 miles or you can haul them yourself for a $50/hd credit. Alternatively, we can winter the bulls for $2.00/hd/day until you pick them up.
