Not everyone agrees that atypical interstitial pneumonia is the second leading cause of feedlot mortality. While it’s generally agreed that bovine respiratory disease is easily the No. 1 cattle killer, atypical interstitial pneumonia, or AIP, is seldom seen in some feedlots.
