Thank You

Welcome to our site.

On behalf of the Maryland Junior Angus Association (MJAA), we would like to welcome you to the home of the Star Spangled Banner. When we chose the theme for the Eastern Regional, Star Spangled Angus, we were anticipating an opportunity to introduce you to the rich patriotic heritage of our great state. The events of September 11, 2001 have emphasized the importance for each and every citizen of our great country to understand the foundation that has enabled us to come together as a nation to prevail in the face of adversity.

Maryland offers a great variety of opportunities to explore the heritage of our remarkable nation. Fort McHenry is the home of the Star Spangled Banner where Francis Scott Key wrote the patriotic song during the War of 1812. The Inner Harbor of Baltimore offers an opportunity to dine and shop in an area that was once a busy seaport that brought goods from Europe to the founding colonies. Our close proximity to Washington, D.C., the capitol of our country, offers a chance to see the nations seat of government as well as historical monuments and museums.

The MJAA has worked very hard during the past year to raise funds and plan the Eastern Regional. Through the endeavors of our members and the continued support of the business community and Angus friends, we have constructed a show that should bring pleasure and entertainment to all that attend.

The show grounds are within walking distance to hotels and shopping. Light rail entry is next to the fairgrounds, making a trip to Baltimore easy. Meals will be provided. Social events and recreational activities have been planned and our facilities are designed for the comfort and convenience of the spectator, exhibitor and their cattle.

We hope to make your visit a memorable experience. Please don’t hesitate to contact any member of our association if there is anything that we can to do enhance your stay in the Black Eyed Susan State.
