Thoene Angus Ranch, Burwell
Thoene Angus Ranch was started in the early 1970s as a seedstock operation with a focus on producing mature, rugged and range-ready bulls for their customers. Charlie and Verda Thoene manage the operation, and their daughter, Ashley, helps where needed and serves as the ranch’s AI technician. Charlie’s brothers, Roger, Gene and Hank, also remain involved with the family’s ranch. The Thoenes market their 2-year-old bulls through an annual bull sale the second Tuesday of each February. Some of their herd sires include Alberda Traveler, Connealy Frontline and Hoff First Class.
